Volunteer mentors work one-on-one with one student throughout the duration of the program. Students are in second through fourth grade. HARP Volunteers mentor and tutor children to combat illiteracy and build children’s confidence in themselves and their academic ability.
HARP Reading Specialists train new volunteers, using the National Louis University clinic model. All lesson plans and materials will be provided, and tutoring is always supervised by our program manager who will be able to provide support as needed.
