“There can be no keener revelation of a society’s soul than the way in which it treats its children.” – Nelson Mandela

Serving the Greater Rogers Park Area and Evanston children is truly the backbone of HECC’s work.

HECC’s pre-school provides affordable and quality childhood education for low-income children programs, helping build the brains of the future change-makers of Chicago.

In the elementary after-school programs, students direct their own education and fun from discussing and creating projects around social justice to receiving help with homework. Programs for older youth focus on helping them achieve their goals, like graduating from high school or finding a safe place to live.

If you care about children’s futures, have a child, or are a young person looking for opportunities to pursue your dreams, HECC has something for you.

Serving Rogers Park children and youth, through education and mentorship, is the backbone of Howard and Evanston Community Center's work.
