Mentor Program Coordinator
Overview: The Clubhouse seeks an outgoing, solutions-driven, and well-organized Mentor Program Coordinator with experience planning and coordinating youth activities and direct experience working with youth. The Mentor Program Coordinator will develop a sustainable Mentor Program, including recruiting, training, and retaining quality mentors for our youth, including modeling high-quality mentoring by working directly with Clubhouse’s members. The Mentor Program Coordinator will receive on-site support for help with program development and implementation.
Responsibilities:
- Assess the current Mentoring Program, determining what works, what doesn’t (and why), and the gaps or needs in the current program.
- Conduct mentor outreach, recruit mentors, and build partnerships with local sources of mentors (i.e., colleges, businesses, etc.)
- Ensure the proper screening and candidate review, provide initial orientation and start-up support, provide ongoing training and support to mentors, and, when needed, facilitate positive endings to mentoring relationships.
- Spend at least 25% of the time with the youth members modeling high-quality mentoring.
Work Schedule: This position is full-time, 40 hours a week. Exact days and hours can be flexible based on the Mentor Coordinator’s needs and Clubhouse hours. (Days are generally M-F)
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proven track record in youth services, especially youth development and mentoring
- Bachelor of Science or Arts degree preferred.
- One (1) or more years of education experience with youth (ages 7-18)
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both written and oral
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues while utilizing leadership skills
- Basic to advanced computer skills and the comfort and confidence to learn skills alongside youth and adults
- Excellent organizational skills, demonstrated by the ability to prioritize multiple tasks as well as a keen attention to detail
