Mayor Lightfoot shared new details about the Chicago Resilient Communities Pilot – a bold investment from the City that will bring financial relief and stability to 5,000 low-income Chicago households. Since January, Charles Hardwick, Reentry Program Director of HECC joined with experts from across Chicago and the country to provide input and counsel to the City as they navigate many critical design and policy decisions for the pilot. The Advisory Group is comprised of advocates, researchers, City officials, social service providers, and people with personal experience with poverty, and I am proud to play a role in bringing this pilot to life.
The Chicago Resilient Communities Pilot will provide $500 per month to 5,000 households for 12 months. Recipients will be selected in a citywide lottery through an open application process.
